The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.

Hello everyone. How is life treating you these days? Are you in need of some hope and magic? I definitely am, so I decided to make my own magic. The kind of magic that lifts my spirit, a whimsical doll. I feel that getting creative and making what you wish to see in the world is something very healing. I encourage you to make some art, or do anything that fills your soul and gives you peace.
In hard times creativity shines, not only the kind that reflects pain and fear, but also the kind that shows us hope. Both are equally valid, relevant, and important in my opinion. So right now I am going for hope, magic, joy, and tenderness of course.
I present to you my new whimsical baby, Pétalo.

I am not sure what kind of whimsical baby she is. Is she a fairy, a pixie, an alien? Maybe a mix of them all. The only thing I am sure she is, is cute. We found Pétalo in one of our morning walks.
It has been raining a lot lately and when that happens a lot of magical beings fall down from trees or get washed away by the rain. With the floods, some underground creatures come out to the surface also. So that is why I am confused of what she is. The wings and pod makes me think she is a fairy, but the antennae confuse me a little since I haven’t seen one like this before. Is this then a pixie? What is even the difference between a pixie and a fairy. Are they the same thing? I have no idea, and whilel I try to figure that out I decided to take this baby home, make her some tiny clothes, not an easy task by the way, and keep her safe and warm. She has been pretty happy here and she loves to sleep and play in the garden.
Pétalo loves plants, dirt, fruits, and vegetables, and she does not care for meat. Are all fairies/pixies vegetarians? I guess it kind of makes sense when you think about it. Pétalo loves insects but she is a little scared of birds and cats. In fact I’m scared of my cat eating her so I keep her far away from the cat at all times. Pétalo seems to be very young and she sleeps most of the time, just like a newborn would. So at least for now, she has been very easy to take care of. I can’t promise that will not change when she grows.

Pétalo is a 5 inch natural fibers pixie baby doll. Her skin is organic cotton interlock hand dyed to a light pink. Limbs and torso are firmly stuffed with clean wool. The head is made in the traditional Waldorf style with some needle felting to make it firmer. She has minimal embroidery on her face made with DMC cotton embroidery floss. Head is wobbly not floppy. Legs and arms are floppy on the shoulders and thighs. Arms are sewn directly to the torso three times for extra strength. Ears and antennae have been hand stitched carefully to the doll. Her wool felt wings have been hand sewn to her back. They are delicate. Blushing was made with an orange red beeswax crayon and it is not permanent. You will get a little piece of cloth with some blush so you can retouch it if necessary.

Pétalo will go home with the following clothes and accessories:
- Handmade cotton velour diaper
- Hand made skirt
- Hand crocheted flower bonnet
- Hand crocheted booties
- Hand knitted leaf blanket
- Hand crocheted hanging pod
- Hand crocheted caterpillar friend

Spot clean only. Clothes should be hand washed separately.
This baby is an art doll, even though she has been made as sturdy as possible, the wings are a little more delicate and should not be pulled. She is to be played with gently by an adult collector or children 7 years or older that do not mouth their toys and can be gentle with the doll.
