Being comfortable with being misunderstood, really changes the game for you.

Hello everyone, new day, new creepy cutie. This is the season for the Halloween babies that can be a little scary for some. So let me. take a moment to introduce you to the creepiest doll some believe I have made so far, Zoé. Zoé, however, is not as creepy as you may think. This doll opened my eyes. I was so wrong about so many things and I think a lot of you will be as surprised a I was when I tell you what I learned from her.
You know how we all think zombies are these humans that came back from the dead and go around eating people’s brains and scaring everyone? Well, let me tell you, this is all a lie, fake, untrue, something someone made up completely. The truth is that zombies are just a species of whimsical beings that have been completely misunderstood for decades. These creatures are just uniquely different, zombies, unlike any other creatures, are born with some of their insides visible on the outside. Most people have mistaken those parts as wounds and that where a lot of the mix up started. Zombies where never dead, and no, no one has hurt these creatures, that is how they were born. That is what they look like, but humans couldn’t understand this at first and gossip started. People made up that zombies were the dead that came back to life, that if you get bitten by one, you turn into one of them. They made movies, tv series, and even books about these so called zombies to scare us all. They even made up that they eat human brains. This is false and it may have started because a lot of zombies love tacos de sesos (brain tacos), which are made with pig or cow’s brains, not humans, and they don’t eat them raw either. So you see, they are not so different from us.They just look different and that is ok, more than ok, that is beautiful.
Our differences make us uniquely beautiful and we must celebrate them. So here I am celebrating my sweet Zoé. Zoé is the sweetest most curious zombie baby. She loves bright colors, nature, creepy dolls, and singing. Zoé seems so taken by everything Halloween. I think being born this time of the year might have something to do with it. She keeps looking at all the decorations, the bats, the ghosts, the spiders, and pumpkins, she really loves the pumpkins. She even chose a pumpkin costume for trick or treating. Though she doesn’t know what trick or treating is yet. I do think she will love it too, so I made her the costume and a little bag to put her candy in.

Zoé is an 8 inch creepy cute baby doll inspired in zombies. Zoe’s skin is Organic Cotton Interlock in its natural color. Limbs and torso are firmly filled with clean wool. Head is floppy. Legs and arms are floppy on the shoulders and thighs. Arms are sewn directly to the torso three times for extra strength. Legs and torso are one piece. The head is firmly needle felted, soft sculpted on the mouth and eyes, her eyes are hand embroidered different from each other with DMC cotton thread. This doll is fully soft sculpted. Her brown hair is a hand crocheted brushable mohair wig cap. The wig has been hand sewn to her head. This hair can be gently brushed and styled. Ears are hand sewn to the head as well. She has many details to represent zombie like wounds on her body. These have been painted with chalk pastels and even though the pastels are not permanent, they are pretty hard to erase, I even try washing it from a piece of the same cloth and haven’t been able to.

Zoé will go home wearing the clothes and accessories you see in her photos, all handmade by me:
