Hello everyone! I’m excited for you to meet my new creepy cutie, Fausto. Fausto is inspired on the Chupacabras. Well, more of a hybrid between what I think a chupacabras might look like and a human.
The best thing about whimsical creatures is no one has seen them, so you can get way more creative with them. My version of a chupacabras has to have wings, because how does he sucks the blood of an animal and disappears that fast without leaving any trace? Easy, he flies, at least that is my theory. I feel he might look like a wolf mixed with some kind of deer and big fangs of course, because if you know the legend, he sucks all the blood of the farm animals through two little fang like holes. You might see it different, maybe even scarier, but this is my world, and of course, I think baby chupacabras do exist and they are adorable, just like Fausto.
Fausto took longer to make than most dolls his size due to all the details on his body, the unusual needle felting, and all the crocheting but I think he was worth it.
Let me tell you more about this baby. He is very self conscious. Most animals are scared of him. He does not understand why though. He tries to play with them, and they all run away as soon as they see him. He is just a baby, he doesn’t have the urge for blood yet. He doesn’t want to be scary. He loves goats the most, but goats are terrified of him. That is why I made him a little plush goat instead.
He wants to go trick or treat, but I wasn’t sure how that was going to work. I had the idea of making him a costume that would cover his whole body and face, so other kids would not run away from him. It really does hurt his feelings. We already tried it in the park, and it worked out great. He got to play with some frogs, our dog and cat, an opossum and some iguanas. He can’t wait for Halloween.
I hope Fausto can find a home where he can grow up freely and maybe be guided into a less bloody future. Though his instincts might win and I just pray he will be loved regardless.
Fausto is an 8 inch creepy cute baby doll inspired in the legend of the Chupacabras. Fausto’s skin is Heavy Weight Laib Yala fabric in light brown. Limbs and torso are firmly filled with clean wool. Head is floppy. Legs and arms are floppy on the shoulders and thighs. Arms are sewn directly to the torso three times for extra strength. Legs and torso are one piece. The head is firmly needle felted, soft sculpted on the mouth and eyes. This doll is fully soft sculpted. His fur is hadn crocheted wild brushable mohair yarn and it has been hand sewn in place. His horns are made with the same Laib Yala fabric but in a dark brown color. His nose has been hand painted with micron permanent marker. Ears are hand sewn to the head as well and fangs hand embroidered. He has fabric wings and a tail.

This doll is not a toy, it is an art doll, intended for adults and children 10 years or older that do not mouth their toys and can be gentle with their dolls.

Fausto’s adoption fee is 405 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with Standard registered mail (It can be upgraded at the customer’s expense).
Shipping to the US and Canada is 30 USDollars through Mexpost (Mexican Priority Shipping). Shipping to Europe is 35 USDollars. Other countries will be 50 USDollars.
I am happy to say that handmade dolls now fall into the “artisan made” products and I don’t have to pay the 10% tax before sending them to the US anymore.
