I don’t know it you know this but I watch a lot of documentaries. It is something I can watch while working because I can mostly just listen without actually having to look at the screen. Plus I love learning new things and knowing all the gossip. haha!

The bad part about watching so many documentaries, is that sometimes I tend to worry a lot. Most of documentaries unlock a new fear I didn’t have before. This is especially true when it comes to the world I have brought my kids into. I feel that no matter how hard we try, how much we live sustainable lives, teach them to be good persons, educate them, plant trees, protect the environment, make our carbon footprint as small as possible, etc. if the people in power do not care, we are still doomed. Watching the animals that are disappearing from Earth worries me a lot. Seeing how bees were declared the most important creature in the planet, yet, we humans still harm and kill them, it’s frustrating.

Out of that frustration Alonso was born. Well, to be fair, his clothes and personality were born from that. The doll itself was the one I made for my Waldorf Baby Doll Class. Nevertheless, while I was making him I already knew he was a boy, and that he cared deeply about the environment and bees.

Alonso is a sensitive baby boy, he loves nature, all plants and animals, especially insects, and especially bees. He already knows how important they are for the planet and for us to live in it. He, unlike my son, is not scared of bees. He actually loves them and can play with them without being stung. I think the fact that he is made of cloth makes a big difference. haha! Alonso gives me hope. Hope that the next generations will be more conscious about the environment, will take better care of the planet and the animals in it.

Alonso seems to be excited to find a home. I hope it is one where he can play outside with the insects and hopefully some bees. He loves to make buzzing sounds, you know, he is still learning to talk, so that seems to be the fun sound of the day, week, month, maybe the year. Even though Alonso loves bees and sweets, he is not ready for honey yet. Remember babies should not consume honey as it may cause botulism. 😉

Alonso is a 13 inch Waldorf baby boy doll. His skin is De Witte Engle in a red brown color. His green eyes have been hand embroidered with DMC threads. His hair is a hand crocheted brown wild brushable mohair wig cap that has been hand sewn to his head. It can be gently brushed and styled. His blushing was made with an red beeswax crayon and is not permanent. He is a natural fibers doll, stuffed with clean carded wool. His head has been made in the traditional Waldorf style. He is articulated on his shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles for better posing. His head is wobbly like a real baby. This baby doll is pretty floppy and very fun to pose. This baby is not weighted.

This doll is intended for children 5 and up that do not mouth their toys or for collectors. The clothes include buttons and snaps that can turn into choking hazards. So be aware of that if you are buying it for a child.

Alonso’s adoption fee is 410 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with Standard registered mail (It can be upgraded at the customer’s expense).

Dolls going to the United States have a 10% fee. This needs to be paid before I can send the doll because it is now a requirement at the post office, so it will be added to your invoice.

Shipping to the US and Canada is 35 USDollars through Mexpost (Mexican Priority Shipping). Other countries will be 50USDollars. If you would like your doll to be sent with a private courier with full insurance let me know so I can give you an accurate quote.

Only dolls sent through DHL can be insured.

If you would like to adopt this baby boy, make sure you fill out the form at the end of the post. If there is more than one person interested in him, I will draw a name. I will take entries for Alonso until tomorrow Tuesday June 30, 2026, at 4pm CST (Mexico City Time). Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know some people live in a different time zone, I will give 12 hours since the invoice is sent for the doll to be paid for or else the doll will go to the next person.
