It’s simply not an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons.
-J.R.R. Tolkien

Let me tell you a secret. All that fairy tales have told us about dragons is false. Yes, dragons are not scary creatures that attack fro no reason, no. Dragons are protectors. Protectors of things they love, or things that people and creatures they love, love. Some protect treasures of people or countries they love. Others protect their families. And there are some special dragons, that protect princesses.
This is the kind of dragon Kaida was born to be, a princess protector. Who do these princesses need protection from you may ask. Well, from weird men and princes that think they can kiss princesses without consent. These guys love doing that especially when princesses are sleeping. So this is when these magical creatures come to work. Dragons have the task of watching over sleeping princesses and ensuring a safe sleep without being harassed. Dragons are the best at their jobs but every now and then a sneaky prince gets to kiss a princess and sometimes even kidnaps them. Fairy tales tell us that they rescued the princess to make it look good, but in reality, these princesses are being taken away from loving safe places and forced to live a vain and boring life as queens.

Kaida is still a baby of course, but dragons start training since birth. They get a princess doll since they are born. They are taught to treat the princess gently, with love and respect, and protect her with their lives. Kaida is doing a great job so far. She never lets her princess out of her sight and loves her to pieces. She takes her to dance lessons with her. Ballet is important for dragons for they learn to be graceful and move as light as a feather. Something very useful when trying to hide from entitled princes. Other things to know about Kaida are she loves hot weather and the color purple, she can’t fly yet, but she will when she is older and her wings grow bigger. Kaida loves watching and listening to fairy tales but she always gets sad when princes get the princesses. Make sure you explain to her that it is just make believe and that is very unlikely to happen in real life. Kaida is a vegetarian and loves to eat everything green. I think that is where she gets her skin color.

Kaida is an 8 inch natural fibers dragon baby doll. She was made slowly and carefully throughout 35+ hours of work. Her skin is organic cotton interlock hand dyed to green and light pink. Limbs and torso are firmly stuffed with clean wool. The head is firmly needle felted, soft sculpted on the mouth and eyes, and hand embroidered with DMC cotton embroidery floss. Head is wobbly not floppy. Legs and arms are floppy on the shoulders and thighs. Arms are sewn directly to the torso three times for extra strength. Legs and torso are one piece. This doll is fully soft sculpted. She has hand stitched dragon wings, dragon tail, dragon ears, and belly, pink horns and spikes. Each piece has been hand stitched carefully to the doll. Her pink spots have been made with a wet pink colored pencil. That is the main reason this doll is spot clean only. You shouldn’t put her under water to preserve her spots. Blushing was made with an orange red beeswax crayon and it is not permanent. You will get a little piece of cloth with some blush so you can retouch it if necessary.

Kaida will go home with the following clothes and accessories:
- Handmade tulle and satin ribbon tutu
- Hand crocheted ballerina slippers
- Hand crocheted princess tiara
- Handmade little princess doll
