This is Arabella and she is down right perfect. Arabella has down syndrome and there is nothing down about it. This is the happiest baby I have ever made. I believe she can look into your soul with those almond shaped eyes and I swear she knows exactly when you need a hug. Also she gives the best hugs for sure. Arabella can’t talk yet but she makes herself understood quite easy, She babbles all the time so don’t be surprised if you hear her first words soon. Important things to know before you adopt her? Well, this happy girl is obsessed with mermaids, water, fishes, and everything sea related. She also loves the rain and cuddle with you all day. Favorite food is watermelon and pancakes and she really really dislikes eggs

Arabella, as you can already see, is my first baby doll with down syndrome. She’s not perfect in the sense that she does not look completely like a girl with down syndrome. However, I think I captured some of the beauty of that extra chromosome. I started by making a flatter face, with slightly up slanted almond shaped eyes. I added small white spots to her eyes after learning that children with down syndrome have them. I tried to make the fold in her eyes as best as I could. I also made her a little chunkier on the torso and limbs, with shorter neck, and smaller ears, and hands. I tried to make smaller feet but they came out chunkier because i also made her big toes a little separate from the rest of the toes. I couldn’t figure out the tongue just yet, but I think her smile captures that iconic smile they usually have. She’s definitely a happy baby.

Arabella is a 15 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. Her skin is DWE in Mocha color. Her limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. Her torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. Her head is floppy. Her arms and legs have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy as well and bend at the elbow, thighs, ankles, and knees. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and nose. Arabella’s hair is a hand crocheted wild brushable mohair cap that has been hand sewn to her head. You can gently brush this hair. Her blushing has been made with chalk pastels, bees wax crayon and coloring pencils. It is not permanent but you will receive a piece of cloth with some beeswax so you can retouch her blushing.

Even though she has been made as sturdy as posable, Arabella is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She obviously loves to be cuddled and held but just like you would be gentle with a real baby, you need to be gentle with her. She’s easy and fun to pose and feels great to hold too.

Arabella will go home with most of the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All handmade by me.

Arabella’s adoption fee is 1065 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free through standard shipping. Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because she is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 75 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

A short, 2 month payment plan is available to purchase her. The payments will be divided in 3 parts. However at least 1/3 of the doll’s price needs to be paid upfront, from which 50 Dollars will be taken as a non refundable deposit. If you have any other doubts about the payment plan, just send me a private message.

I will take entries for Arabella until Friday May 5, 2023 at 12noon CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Please only comment if you are sure you want this doll and you are able to pay for her. If payment is not received in the first 12 hours after I contact the selected family. I will choose a new family.
