Find me where elephants are…
-unknown

Meet Kabir. My very good boy. This is a baby that is as sweet and well behaved as can be, This doesn’t me his a quiet baby though. DOn’t confuse the two. Kabir is a very inquisitive baby. He’s always investigating everything, babbling and trying to get attention. He usually takes off every piece of clothes he can, so taking these photos was a challenge. I had to hurry before he started taking off his shoes, socks, and hat. As you can see in this photo he already started doing so.
Kabir is in love with nature, especially the animals in it. He has been looking for elephants around ever since he saw one on TV. Unfortunately there are no elephants in Merida. Not even at the zoo. So I offered to make him one and so I did. I first started making an Asian elephant, you know with the smaller ears, but he said he wanted one with the big ears, like the one that flies. I guess someone saw Dumbo with the kids while I was working. So he now has his big eared elephant. He still wants a real elephant though.

Kabir has been a doll I had in my head since last year, I have a couple of those still. He was inspired on a little boy I saw on TV. An Indian boy who was raised in the US. That is the reason he is wearing a bindi in some of the photos. I am not great at making Indian features, I did try my best, but at least the bindi represents his heritage.

Kabir is a 12 inches natural fibers art baby doll. He’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. His skin is Laib Yala in red brown, his limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. His torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. His head is a little floppy and can be moved around. His arms and legs have been hand sewn to his torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy and bend at the elbows, knees, and thighs. His head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and nose. Kabir’s hair is a hand crocheted black mohair mix cap, it has been hand sewn to his head. His blushing has been made with a beeswax crayon, some pastels, and color pencils.
Kabir is not a toy. He’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. He loves to be cuddled and held but just like you would be gentle with a real baby, you need to be gentle with him.

Kabir will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in his photos. All items are handmade by me.

Kabir’s adoption fee is 700 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free through Standard mail with tracking. Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because he is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 60 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
A short, 2 payments plan in one month is available to purchase him. However at least 1/2 of the doll’s price needs to be paid upfront, from which 50 Dollars will be taken as a non refundable deposit.
If you wish to adopt this sweet baby boy just comment below stating so.
If you wish to see more photos of Kabir, you can see them in his album here.

I will take entries for Kabir until Easter Sunday April 9, 2023 at 12 noon CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name later that day. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.
Please only comment if you are sure you want this doll and you are able to pay for him. If payment is not received in the first 12 hours after I contact the selected family. I will choose a new family.
As always by commenting you agree you are 18 years or older and please do not comment for someone else, that is just not fair for others.
In the event that Kabir does not find a home in the time stated above, he will be announced on Instagram and Facebook as ready for adoption and listed in my shop.

Thank you very much for coming to meet Kabir. He’s very excited to find a family. He hopes to see an elephant in his new home. I already told him that might not happen, but we’ll see.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Read you soon.
Hugs,
Aubrey
