Christmas boys.

“My favorite color is Christmas lights.”

Esteban & Salvador, 11 inch Waldorf Inspired Dolls

Ready for some more Christmas babies? I was reminded today by Instagram that at this time last year I was already done with Christmas babies and was making the last babies of the year. This time I am a little behind though it doesn’t really feel like it. For some reason I’m taking things slower and trying to enjoy this time more. Maybe it is the fact that this year we will be staying home. I feel a little more relaxed about that. As much as I love to spend time with relatives, I rather spend Christmas at home only the four of us. Either way, I got a couple more Christmas babies in my head and heart that I hope I can make before actual Christmas gets here.

I believe this is the first time I make two boys and no girls. I don’t know why but when I thought of these babies I could only picture boys in my head. So please meet Esteban and Salvador. Two sweet boys ready yo play and celebrate their favorite holiday (Christmas) with you.

Esteban, 11 inch Waldorf Inspired Doll

Esteban is the oldest one. He’s very sweet and kind. He’s also very independent and seems to learn everything very quickly. He’s already cruising around the furniture and starting to give his first steps. He’s not a very good sleeper and even though he doesn’t cry much, he babbles a lot. Some of Esteban’s favorite things are playing with sand, chewing on his bonnet, sugar cookies, and Christmas songs. Some things he does not like are oranges, slimy textures, and loud noises.

Esteban is an 11 inch baby boy. His skin is DWE in dark brown. His black eyes have been hand embroidered with DMC thread, and his hair is a hand crocheted big loop mohair wig cap that has been hand sewn to his head. This style of hair cannot be brushed. His blushing was made with a red beeswax crayon and is not permanent. He is a natural fibers doll, filled with clean wool. His head has been made in the traditional Waldorf style but has also been needle felted to make it firmer. He can bend his arms at the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. He can bend his legs at the hip, knees, and ankles. His head is wobbly and can tilt to the sides, front, and back.

Now Salvador, even though he’s younger, he’s a tad taller than Esteban. He’s not a shy baby and is very curious about everything. He’s not pulling up on furniture like his brother is, but he likes to turn over on his back and back to his belly all the time. He already pushes with his legs. I think we might have a crawler soon. Salvador will win you over with his cooing and his puppy eyes. He’s a co-sleeper but will sleep all night if you are next to him. Salvador loves playing with leaves and water. He’s fascinated by ants, especially when they’re carrying big flowers and leaves. He loves the sound of rain and enjoys being read in a soft voice. What doesn’t he like? sour candy, ginger, and cheese.
