A new

A new baby is finally ready for a new home. I must say it took me a little longer than usual to even start making this sweet girl. I have been very busy working on custom dolls, finding fabrics, yarns, etc. for them. It has also been a surprisingly sad month. The war has touched the doll making community closer this time. I am trying to keep my optimism and send good vibes and thoughts to my fellow doll makers in Ukraine and Russia. I also need to make a living, so balancing the crazy emotions of this month with the joy of making dolls has been a little tough.

Nevertheless, I still manage to give birth to Aurora. This little ray of sunshine has brought hope, love, and tenderness to my life, and I hope she will do the same for you.

Aurora is a sweet baby with the most scrumptious cheeks ever. She wonders what everything is and she is quite confused when people argue or get mad at each other. She doesn’t know or understand about grudges or revenge. She forgives and loves you unconditionally, just the way it should be. Babies’ love is the purest of all. They are still completely innocent and full of wonder.

If you are thinking about taking sweet Aurora home, you should know that she loves to dress up. That is the main reason she has bunny ears in both her outfits. I’m just making sure you know, that she will start asking for other things soon. Probably butterfly wings, bat ears, reindeer antlers, who knows? She’s big on holidays, and she wants to celebrate them all. She finds everything mesmerizing. She also loves chocolate, especially if they have special shapes like hearts, bunnies, or coins. I would keep the chocolate to a minimum if I were you though. She’s a good sleeper as long as there is some white noise. Overall she’s a pretty easy baby, very loving, very cuddly, and very playful.

Aurora is a 17 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. Her skin is Heavy Weight Laib Yala in dark brown, my favorite fabric in my favorite color. Her limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. Her torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. Her head is very floppy and needs support when you hold her. Her arms and legs have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy as well and bend at the elbow, thighs, ankles, and knees. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and nose. Aurora’s hair is a hand crocheted wild brushable mohair wig. It was originally pink but I hand dyed it to this dark brown color. Her hair can be brushed though I haven’t brushed it because I feel it looks more baby- ish this way. Her blushing has been made with a red bees wax crayon and it is not permanent.

Aurora is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She loves to be cuddled and held but just like you would be gentle with a real baby, you need to be gentle with her. She’s easy and fun to pose and feels great to hold too.

Aurora will go home with most of the clothes and accessories you see in her photos.

Aurora’s adoption fee is 1,200 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping prices have gone up this year. Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because she is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 75 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

A short, 3 month payment plan is available to purchase her. However at least 1/4 of the doll’s price needs to be paid upfront. Please ask for the payment plan rules if you don’t know them yet.

I will take entries for Aurora until Monday March 21, 2021 at 12 noon CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.
