Nap time is my happy hour.
-Unknown

Welcome my new baby boy Kaiyo. He’s one of the best behaved babies I have ever made. He doesn’t give me any trouble. Drinks all his milk, does not fuss much, sleeps through the night, and is always in a good mood. He’s nearly perfect. Really, I can hardly believe it.
Kaiyo loves happy songs and stories. He loves, whales, dolphins, and narwhals. He calls them unicorns. I guess he’s right, they are the real unicorns. He got so happy when I gave him the one I made for him. Kaiyo likes sweet vegetables like carrots, and sweet potatoes. He also loves to nap…like a lot! I was scared there was something wrong with him but then I noticed he’s happy calm face when he’s sleeping and I wonder if it is just that he likes to dream. He probably has the sweetest dreams. Don’t you think?

Did you notice his knitted hat? This is the second knitted hat I have made. I know is not a big deal for most of you but for me it is because I have been trying to knit for about 5 years and I have never been able to. This last time I started learning, I discovered what my problem was. I live in a very hot part of the world and my hands tend to sweat a lot. So whenever I was knitting something the yarn would get wet with my sweat and got stuck to the needles. It was impossible to take the yarn off the needles. So how did I fixed this? I now either turn on the air conditioner or place a fan facing directly to my hands. I can knit now! I still have a lot to practice but I am excited to learn new things. Now back to Kaiyo.

Kaiyo is a 15 inch natural fibers art baby doll. He’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. His skin is DWE in beige. His limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. His torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. His head is floppy. His arms and legs have been hand sewn to his torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy as well and bend at the elbow, thighs, ankles, and knees. His head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and nose. Kaiyo’s hair is a hand crocheted brushable black mohair cap with added strands that has been hand sewn to his head. This hair can be gently brushed. His blushing has been made with chalk pastels.
Kaiyo is not a toy. He’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. He loves to be cuddled and held but just like you would be gentle with a real baby, you need to be gentle with him. He’s easy and fun to pose and feels great to hold too.

Kaiyo will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in his photos.
