Let me formerly introduce you to Román. Most of you have seen some behind the scenes of the making of this baby. He was born along another doll meant for my daughter. I must say Román, as well as he’s previous sister Alondra, were not meant to be this big. They were both planned as 16 inch babies, but somehow they took a life of their own and turned out bigger than I imagined. Is not a bad thing of course, Román is one of the cutest babies I have ever made, but I wish sometimes my dolls would listen to me and at least stay the size I want them to. Oh well, sometimes you can’t fight them.

Baby Román is a newborn baby boy that still spends most of his time sleeping. I can’t promise he will stay like this forever. I have a feeling he will be very energetic when he grows up. He moves a lot while he sleeps and he’s also very vocal so be ready to get waken up by coos and giggles every night. Some of Román’s favorite things are teddy bears, soft blankets, milk with vanilla, and bed time stories. Well stories can be any time of day, since he will fall asleep anyway. ha! This baby boy loves to cuddle and fall asleep in your arms. He sleeps pretty well but he does not like to be alone. You at least have to sleep in the same bedroom as him.

Román is an 18 inch natural fibers art baby doll. He’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. His skin is DWE in red brown, his limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. His torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. Her head is floppy, just like a real newborn baby and needs to be supported.  His arms and legs have been hand sewn to his torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy as well and bend at the elbow, thighs, ankles, and knees. His head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and eyes. Román’s hair is a hand crocheted wild brushable black mohair cap that has been hand sewn to his head. You can gently brush and restyle this kind of hair. His blushing has been made with chalk pastels.

Román is not a toy. He’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. He likes to be cuddled and held but just like you would be gentle with a newborn baby, you need to be gentle with him. He’s easy and fun to pose and feels great to hold too.

Román will go home with most of the clothes and accessories you see in his photos.

Román’s adoption fee is 1,195 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free. Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because he is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 60 USDollars. Other parts of the world would need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

A short, 3 month payment plan is available to purchase him. However at least 1/4 of the doll’s price needs to be paid upfront, from which 50 Dollars will be taken as a non refundable deposit. Please ask for the payment plan rules if you don’t know them yet.

I will take entries for Román until Tuesday January, 25 2022 at 2pm CDT. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.
