Something handmade is so much more meaningful.

Woohoo! It’s been a little over two years since I took custom orders. Wow! I have decided to start taking them again but at my own pace and under new rules. Even though custom orders tend to stress me out, they also make me push myself and make new and exciting things I would have probably not made otherwise. It’s always interesting to create a doll under someone else’s vision. I must admit I am both nervous and excited about this.

One thing you should know is I will only take custom orders on Waldorf inspired dolls, you know the wool stuffed kind. I will not take orders on my previous soft sculpted babies. I will also only take two customs this time and see how it goes from there. The key word here is “stress” and how to avoid it at all cost. So let me first tell you how the custom doll spot will work and the rules of the game.

For your custom doll you can choose, gender, skin tone, eye color or closed eyes, hair color and style (wild brushable mohair, loop mohair, yarn, or embroidered hair. Fabric hair can be done but is limited to the choices I can find) We can talk about colors for clothes and clothes styles you like but I also need some creativity freedom so I don’t feel completely restricted. I recommend you look at my Pinterest or Instagram to select some photos of dolls that speak to you so I can have a better idea of what you like from my dolls. My work is usually pretty organic and every doll has its own personality. I cannot make copies of my previous dolls nor from other doll makers. Even if I wanted to, not even twins come out the same. That is the magic of handmade, every piece is unique. I will also not make copyrighted dolls or characters. I rather stay out of trouble.

The prices are as follow:

ABC Babies with hat, socks and one more accessory. 175 USD. These are 9.5 inch dolls made with children in mind. They are a more simple design with a printed fabric torso and some detachable accessories. They have floppy arms and legs but the head is more wobbly than floppy. Still very posable and cuddly. You can order up to 4 of these in one custom spot.

12 inch Simple Face Baby Doll – 360 USD. Add 10 dollars for weight. I usually make these dolls for children. This size is the only one were the torso and legs are one piece to make them more sturdy. These dolls have floppy heads, arms and legs that bend at the elbows and knees as well. They are very fun to pose. Dolls will come dressed in a 5 piece outfit. i.e. a diaper, a dress, diaper cover, head piece, and booties. There will always be at least one item in crochet unless otherwise instructed by you. You can order up to 3 of these in one custom spot.

Extra outfit starts in 30 dollars for this size depending on details.

14 inch Simple Face Baby Doll – 475 USD. Add 13 dollars for weight. These dolls have floppy heads, arms and legs that bend at elbows and knees as well.They are very fun to pose. Dolls will come dressed in a 5 piece outfit. i.e. a diaper, a dress, diaper cover, head piece, and booties. There will always be at least one item in crochet unless otherwise instructed. You can order up to 2 of these in one custom spot.

Extra outfit starts at 50 dollars depending on details.

16 inch Simple Face Baby Doll -575 USD. Add 15 dollars for weight. These dolls have floppy heads, arms and legs that bend at elbows and knees as well. They fit into most preemie clothes and they are the ones that feel most like real babies. They are very fun to pose. Dolls will come dressed in a 5 piece outfit. i.e. a diaper, a dress, diaper cover, head piece, and booties. There will always be at least one item in crochet unless otherwise instructed. You can order up to 2 of these in one custom spot.

Dolls with needle felted heads start at: 460 for the 12 inch babies, 600 for 14 inch babies, 685 for 16 inch babies. Weight will have an extra charge. Prices will depend of course on details on dolls and clothes as well.

All baby dolls are sent wrapped in a simple blanket to keep them cozy and comfortable and with a transitional object of my choice (this is really a gift from me to the doll).

The doll sizes offered above are the only ones I will be making custom dolls for.

Special requests with unusual details will have an extra charge depending on the details of course.

Price does not include shipping. I usually ship my dolls internationally through standard mail with tracking or priority for bigger dolls. However, weighted dolls need to be shipped with a private courier and insured, this will raise the price of shipping significantly. 

Your dolls will be started this month and will take me 1 to 3 months to be finished depending on the size of the doll, and details. More than one doll per custom spot may also increase the time for them to be finished.

Dolls will be paid in installments but the first two payments need to be paid before I start the doll. First payment is due the day you get selected to purchase the custom spot. It is a 50 dollars (non refundable deposit) to reserve your spot. These 50 dollars will go towards the total of the doll’s price. The 50 dollars have to be paid within the first 12 hours the invoice is sent or else the spot will go to the next person. Once the deposit is paid for, I will send you an email with all the info you need to know to make your order. Once the details have been settled, you need to pay half of the doll price so I can start your doll. This will mainly go towards any shopping I may need to do for your doll. The rest of the doll will be paid in installments and all the info will be given in the email I will send you if you get the custom spot.

Now, how do you get a spot? You comment on this post of course. Make sure the email you enter is your PayPal one. Comments will not be visible to others. Only to me. I will take entries for only 2 custom spots until Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 3pm CDT. If there are more than 2 people interested I will draw names from a bowl.
