I took a little break of making my big art dolls to make a couple of magical tiny babies. I needed to make something different, whimsical, that would spark my imagination. I guess my mind needed a break from reality, and making fantasy babies is my way of doing so. I made two mushroom babies and two butterfly ones. They all found homes except for one, you can see her in my shop. For the sake of honesty, I also went a couple of days to Cancun and spent it with my sister, so that also helped. Seeing your sibling (whom I’m really close to) after 3 years of not seeing her makes everything better.

When I came back to make this big baby girl, I felt refreshed and ready. I took my time with her and tried to pay attention to every detail. I took extra steps to make sure she came out the way I imagined her. I spent way too much time on her dress because I had to do some things by hand. But let me tell you, it was worth it. I kind of want to make one in my size. The skirt is so round and has some weight to it, the fabric is so nice and soft and I love the way the lace looks on it. I had to make her matching accessories and my favorite one is her flower crown. I haven’t made one of these I don’t think ever, It was a little tricky but I figured it out. Well as you can probably tell by now. I really love how this little one turned out. So let me move on to tell you about her.

Marcela is a sweet baby that is curious about everything around her. She loves nature and being outside. She says it is much more interesting than inside. She can spend hours looking at birds, trees, and butterflies. She likes to feel the grass between her fingers and toes. Every little sound she hears, she needs to find out what it is. She needs to touch and taste everything. So be careful of what you leave near her. Overall Marcela is a pretty happy baby with big wondering eyes.

Would you like to know some of Marcela’s favorite things? She loves strawberry ice cream but doesn’t like strawberries. She likes chocolate covered raisins, but doesn’t like raisins. She likes mango smoothies, but doesn’t like mangos. Which means you need to get creative on how to make her eat her fruits. She only likes to be read books with rhymes. She says they feel like songs. She’s also into music, singing, and dancing. I think that’s a trade mark of every baby born in this house. haha!

Marcela is a 17 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. Her skin is Heavy Weight Laib Yala in dark brown. Her limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. Her torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. Her head is floppy but still has some support. Her arms and legs have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy as well and bend at the elbows, shoulders, thighs, ankles, and knees. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and nose. Marcela’s hair is a handmade wig made from a hand dyed mohair weft that has been hand sewn to a hand crocheted wig cap and then hand sewn to the head. Her hair can be gently brushed and restyled. Her blushing has been made with a red beeswax crayon.

Marcela is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She likes to play and cuddle but you need to be gentle with her like you would be with a real baby.

Marcela will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All clothes items are handmade by me.

Marcela’s adoption fee is 1,200 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because she is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 75 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

A short, 3 month payment plan is available to purchase her. However at least 1/4 of the doll’s price needs to be paid upfront. Please ask for the payment plan rules if you don’t know them yet.

If you wish to adopt this curious little one just comment below stating that you would like to adopt her, your country of residence, and remember that the email you write should be your PayPal email address. Also remember that comments will not be visible to the public, only to me. If you are unsure if your comment went through, just send me a private message and I’ll confirm it to you.

Please only comment for her if you are completely sure you want her and are able to pay for her either in full or following the rules of the payment plan.

I will take entries for Marcela until Tuesday August 2, 2022 at 6pm CDT. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.

If Marcela does not find a home in the time stated above she will be announced on Instagram and Facebook as ready for adoption and listed in my shop.
