Niran and Nadia are ready for cuddles

The soul is healed by being with children.

-Fyodor Dostoevsky

Happy Belated Valentines Day!!!

Well, my sewing machine is back!! Yay! It’s working perfectly and now I’m going to be extra careful with the needle clamp. I don’t want to break that again. Machine fixed and ready means I was finally able to finish these sweet girls’ clothes.

This is an unusual pair let me say. One is very calm and likes to sleep all the time. The other one is an adventurer and sort of a caregiver too. And even though they are so different, they love each other so much.

Nadia and Niran, 16 inch Natural Fibers Dolls

First to be born was baby Niran. This sweet girl loves coconut milk, the smell of steam dumplings, and lemongrass. She loves being in the sun and playing with water. She asks every day when we will be able to go to the beach again. I really hope it’s soon. Also, it may be because she’s the oldest of the two, but she’s always taking care of her sister Nadia, and protecting her while she sleeps. She even tries to sing lullabies to her. It is the cutest thing.

Baby Niran was inspired in all the amazing people we met in Thailand, that is why she has sort of more Asian eyes. I really love how she turned out. Her name means Eternal. And even though I’m sure she will not be eternal, I’m hoping she will last many years making her new mom very happy.

Niran is a 16 inch baby girl. Her skin is Laib Yala Heavy Weight in Red Brown. Her black eyes have been hand embroidered and her hair is a hand crocheted wild brushable mohair wig cap in black. Her blushing was made with a red beeswax crayon and is not permanent. Her belly is mostly filled with glass beads for weight and some wool for sculpting the belly button and buttocks.

Now let me tell you about little Nadia. Nadia is the quiet one, the easy going one. Unless you want to leave her sleeping alone in the room. Then she might make a big fuss about it. She doesn’t like to sleep alone, but then which baby does? Nadia loves lullabies, the smell of lavender, and bed time stories. If you don’t want to sleep with her just make sure there is another dolly next to her that she can hug and feel safe with. Nadia is a dreamer and most nights she dreams she can fly like a balloon. That is why I chose this sweet balloon fabric for her outfit.

These babies will go home with the following clothes and accessories:

  • Handmade long sleeve envelope shirt. (Made with a pattern by Hey Barrie)
  • Handmade diaper with snap closures.
  • Handmade overalls with ruffles on the back (Pattern by HeyBarrie)
  • Hand crocheted bonnet
  • Handmade boots with pompoms (pattern by Fig and Me)
  • Their own baby doll so they don’t travel alone.

If you would like to see more photos of Nadia and Niran you can check their album.

These babies are not meant to be toys. Even though they are made pretty sturdy, the weight and accessories do not make them suitable for children. These dolls are for gentle playing by an adult collector or an older child, 7 and up. They are natural fibers dolls, filled with clean wool. Their heads have been made in the traditional Waldorf style with some needle felting to make them firmer. Their clothes have been made with cotton and wool blend fabrics and the hats with wool and wool blend yarns. These baby dolls are pretty floppy and very fun to pose. They each weight 900 grams, almost 2 pounds.

These babies’ adoption fee is 370 USDollars for each one plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free; to the US, PR, and Canada is 45 USDollars, and for the rest of the world is 70 USDollars via Mexpost (Mexican Priority shipping). Correos de Mexico will not allow me to ship a doll this size through regular mail to an international address.

If you would like to adopt one of them, make sure you comment on this post stating the name of the baby doll: Niran, for the brown girl with Asian eyes and black hair, and/or Nadia for the sleeping tan girl with red curls. If you like them both, make sure you write the names in the priority you would like them. If there is more than one person interested in any of the dolls, I will draw a name. I will take entries for these babies until tomorrow Tuesday February 16 at 4pm CDT.

Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. If you need a payment plan, please let me know in advance, as there are rules for the payment plans.

In the event any of these babies do not find a loving home in the time stated above, the doll will be listed in my shop and announced on Facebook and Instagram.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about these two girls. If your heart is set on one of them, I wish you all the luck in the world. If you just came to see them, I appreciate that too.

Now I’m going to clean my studio and start working on some teenie tiny babies. Will show you soon.

Stay healthy! Read you soon.

Hugs,

Aubrey
