Life doesn’t need magic to be magical (But a little bit sure doesn’t hurt).
Laini Taylor

I’ve been making lots of babies lately. Mostly because I was trying my new pattern and that one is the most complete pattern I have made so far. I made a total of 5 babies in different sizes, different colors, hair styles, sleeping, and awake. Baby Elin was one of the babies that was actually made during the writing of the pattern. When the pattern is ready, if you buy it, you will see a couple of photos of her in it.
I finished 4 of the babies and put them for adoption a couple of weeks ago, but Elin was different. She didn’t seem ready at the moment, so I waited a little longer until I discovered who she was. The funny thing is I ended up discovering that I needed a little bit of magic in my life. I haven’t made a magical baby since the love bugs and I guess I was missing it. I looked at Elin and I saw it. She was a fairy, my new garden fairy.

Elin is a garden fairy. She likes to sleep on the ground hidden around the bushes. This was a big surprise for me because all the fairies I know love to be at the top of the trees. I guess a lot of the things we know, have changed lately. I also wonder if fairies like to be at the top of trees to hide from humans, and maybe, just maybe now that we are not going out so much, they feel more comfortable being on the ground. I don’t know, maybe she’s just weird. She’s also adorable, fun, and full of magic. So don’t be fooled by her size, she has lots of energy and lots of love to give.
Oh and I need to tell you this, Elin has a little friend named Simon, that watches her while she sleeps. Even though he’s really nice and funny, he’s also very protective of Elin, especially when she’s sleeping. So don’t tell me I didn’t warn you.

Elin is a 4ish inch baby doll fairy. She is NOT a natural fibers doll. She is not filled with wool and is not a Waldorf Inspired Doll. She is filled with soft polyester stuffing which allows for this kind of soft sculpting. Her body is made out of organic cotton interlock fabric hand dyed to a tan color. Her head is lined on the inside. Because of her tiny size she’s partially soft sculpted and she is anatomically correct. Elin has hand embroidered sleeping eyes and hair. Her blushing is made with a red orange bees wax crayon and is not permanent. Her arms are hand sewn to her body and the legs are string jointed twice with upholstery thread. Her head is attached with super strong nylon thread and then secured with ladder stitch all around to make it more neat and aesthetically pleasing. Her wings are not detachable and they are made with lace and tulle. Her antennae are crochet chains hand stitched directly to her head. They are non removable. She’s pretty fun to move and pose.
You can see more photos of Elin in her album
Elin is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or older child, 7 or older. Elin has a lot of small parts that can be detached with rough play, so please do not give this doll to a small child.

Elin will go home with the clothing and accessories on the photos which includes
- A piece of purple cloth that serves as a diaper.
- A handmade wool blend felt leaves skirt
- A handmade headband
- A hand crocheted wool nest
- A hand crocheted leaf shaped blanket
- Her little friend Simon the snail
Elin’s adoption fee is 90 USD plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free. Shipping to the US and Canada is 8 USD. Shipping to other parts of the world is 13 USD. There is now a new option of expedited shipping, if you would like to add that please let me know, so I can get a quote for you.
If you need some magic in your life too and wish to adopt baby Elin make sure you comment on this post saying so. I will take entries for Elin until tomorrow Wednesday July 29, 2020 at 4pm CDT. As usual if there is more than one entry I will draw a name.
By commenting you agree that you are 18 years or older. Please do not comment on behalf of someone else, that is just not fair for others. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.
If Elin does not find a home in the time stated above, she will be listed in the shop and announced on Facebook and Instagram.
