Amapola is dreaming of Spring

To plant a garden is to dream, of tomorrow.

Amapola 7 inch Natural Fibers Doll

I have been having a weird month were I have been getting sick a lot and time seems to be slipping from my hands. I don’t know if you have felt something similar lately. I have, nevertheless, been working at my own pace and trying not to get stressed out so I don’t get even sicker. I must say I am putting myself first, taking time to rest, eat well, exercise, and I even started reading again. I am really fighting stress with all the weapons I know and I think it is working. However, me being happier, also means the dolls take longer to make. They will be made though, because making dolls is one of the things that make me happy too.

I usually make all my themed little dolls together. This time I decided to post them separate though, whenever they were ready. So this one is my second little flower girl and I will have a third one, hopefully a boy. I’m just making decisions and experimenting with him still.

Now let me introduce you to Amapola. This little dreamer is not as peaceful and quiet as she appears. She sleeps a lot, that is true, but when she wakes up, she is a handful. Even sleeping, you can see a little bit of a smurk in her face. She is a little trouble maker and the cutest one for sure. Amapola loves flowers and butterflies. She loves them so much, she will pluck every single flower she sees and leave you with no flowers in your garden, flower pots, or anywhere you might have flowers. I just want you to be aware of this, so you can stop her before it happens. I have explained that bees, butterflies, and other insects need those flowers and even though she seems to agree, she will immediately pluck more flowers if I don’t take her away from them immediately. She says they are so beautiful she just can’t help it. She also wants to catch all the butterflies because she says they look like flying flowers. Good thing she hasn’t been able to catch any yet. Hopefully she never will.

Amapola is a 7 inch spring baby. Her skin is DWE in red brown color. Her sleeping eyes have been hand embroidered with DMC thread, and her pink curls are a small loop mohair wig cap with some loop stitches. The wig cap has been hand sewn to her head. She has a firmly needle felted face with soft sculpted features. She’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. Her blushing was made with a red beeswax crayon and is not permanent. She is a natural fibers doll, filled with clean wool. Her head, arms, and legs are floppy for better posing.
