Some see a weed, others see a wish.

I always see a wish, how about you?

Even though dandelions are considered weeds by so many, I still consider them flowers and one of the most magical ones actually. When I gave myself the task to make a little flower boy, I felt it was a harder task than when I made the girls. I know flowers are for everyone as so as colors and he might love a pink or purple flower hat for that matter. However, I still wanted to make him look more neutral so I wanted sort of a white flower. I felt a dandelion was such a fun perfect idea for an energetic little boy. Little did I know, this little boy was a shy one. Nevertheless I think this flower suits him perfectly because he’s a dreamer and a wish come true in my opinion.
Designing his hat was a big project, I went through three different designs and I finally set on this one. I love how flowy the hat looks, like you can blow on it and it will just fall apart, though it won’t I promise. Going with the previous designs of making the hair the same color of the flower the doll was made after, I made his hair white but I felt it wasn’t quite right. Once I added a row of brown to the edges, I felt that was it. He even looks like a dandelion without the hat, well, at least to me. You just need to fluff his hair a little and voilá, dandelion hair.

Now let me tell you a little bit about Leo. He is a very shy but very sweet little boy. He always has a smile on his face and loves making people smile. He rarely cries and is always in a good mood. Even though he is very careful at first, he tends to warm up to people very easily. However, he is not a loud and hyperactive baby. He’s more of an easy going baby that tends to follow your lead and does pay a lot of attention to everything you teach him. He’s already learning to stand up, he needs something to hold on to still, but I’m sure he will be toddling around very soon. Leo loves wild flowers and mushrooms, dandelions are his favorites of course, he can’t get enough of blowing on them. He really enjoys walking and crawling outside on the dirt and grass. I guess he just loves the simple pleasures and all the new textures.

Leo is a 7 inch mini baby boy. His skin is DWE in light brown color. His eyes have been hand embroidered with DMC thread, and his two toned hair is a wild brushable mohair crocheted wig cap. The wig cap has been hand sewn to his head. This style of hair can be brushed gently to refresh. He has a firmly needle felted face with soft sculpted features. He’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. His blushing was made with an orange/red beeswax crayon and is not permanent but you can easily retouch it. He is a natural fibers doll, filled with clean wool. His head, arms, and legs are floppy for better posing.

Leo will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in his photos. All handmade by me.
