Jia, a baby fox ready for cuddles.

Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.

-Gary Snider

How have you all been? I have been very busy lately. I have many projects going on at the same time: doll making, pattern making, content creating, Pinterest, and of course Patreon. I have been neglecting my social media a little bit and I know that won’t be great for my business but sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do, and this time social media is not my priority.

So here is what I have been working on in the doll making territory. First of all, I decided to start making collections of dolls each month. This is the first month I try this and so me and my patrons decided on woodland creatures this month. Jia is the first woodland creature inspired baby for this month. She’s the sweetest little fox baby you will ever meet.

Jia is a curious little one. She looks at everything with so much wonder. I think that is one of the things I like the most about babies. Everything is new and interesting to them. Jia seems to be enthralled by everything that moves, birds, dogs, cats, bees, tree branches getting hit by the wind, you name it. Ants however, seem to catch her attention the most. I think that the lines they make seem peculiar to her. Maybe she’s still trying to figure them out. Who knows? She spends a lot of time watching ants, let me tell you that.

Jia also likes to be sang at and loves to see people dance, even if it is not good. So don’t worry you don’t need to be a pro to get her attention. She loves Renart the fox stories and her favorite movie is The fox and the hound. The fox is her favorite character, of course. Foods she likes? Well, that kind of changes every day. She tries something new every couple of days and whatever she tries, if she likes it, turns into her new favorite. Currently Guavas are her favorite but last week it was raspberries, so who knows what next week will bring.

Jia is a 12 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. Her skin is Laib Yala in dark peach, her limbs are fully lined and firmly filled with clean wool and glass beads. Her torso is needle felted in two parts and weighted with glass beads. Her head is a little floppy and can be moved around. Her arms and legs have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are very floppy and bend at the elbows, knees, ankles, and thighs. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and nose. Jia’s hair is a hand crocheted black brushable mohair wig cap, it has been hand sewn to her head. This hairstyle can be gently brushed when needed. Her blushing has been made with a beeswax crayon, some pastels, and color pencils.

Jia is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. Shee loves to be cuddled and held but just like you would be gentle with a real baby, you need to be gentle with her.

Jia will go home with most of the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All items are handmade by me.

  • Cotton cloth diaper with plastic snaps.
  • Cotton gauze dress with hand embroidered fox detail. Pattern for the dress by Hello Dear Kids.
  • Bloomers with lace detail.
  • Cotton interlock tights.
  • Hand crocheted fox hat. Pattern by BrianaKDesigns
  • Hand crocheted diaper cover with detachable tail
  • Hand knitted booties. Pattern by Luletti.
  • Fox baby doll

Jia’s adoption fee is 700 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free through Standard mail with tracking. Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because he is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 60 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

A short, 2 payments plan in one month is available to purchase her. However at least 1/2 of the doll’s price needs to be paid upfront, from which 50 Dollars will be taken as a non refundable deposit.

If you wish to adopt this sweet girl just comment below stating so.

If you wish to see more photos of Jia, you can see them in her album here.

I made a video of her but it was blurry. I don’t know how I didn’t notice, my eyesight betrayed me, hahaha. I will make a new one and hopefully update this tomorrow.

I will take entries for Jia until Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 4pm CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name later that day. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.

Please only comment if you are sure you want this doll and you are able to pay for her. If payment is not received in the first 12 hours after I contact the selected family. I will choose a new family.

As always by commenting you agree you are 18 years or older and please do not comment for someone else, that is just not fair for others.

In the event that Jia does not find a home in the time stated above, he will be announced on Instagram and Facebook as ready for adoption and listed in my shop.

I hope Jia has made you smile and maybe won your heart. She’s really a good baby and isa joy to take care of. Thank you so much for taking the time to read bout her.

Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Read you soon.

Hugs and love,

Aubrey

  1. I loved reading about Jia and her adorable personality! The details about her construction and accessories are really impressive as well. I was wondering, how do you choose the themes for your doll collections each month? Is it a group decision with your patrons or your personal preference?

    1. Hi, I usually decide based on what I am inspired to make at the time. However, sometimes I have more than one idea in my mind, so I ask on my Patreon channel for some help. Patrons get to vote on what they like best of the choices I give them, and I go from there. So in a way, is a mix of both.
Thank you for your kind words.
