Jadu, the first baby of the year.

The first baby of the year is ready for a home.

It took me way longer than anticipated to have a baby ready for sale. Not because I wasn’t working or didn’t know what to make. It was more about making decisions about my dolls and where they are going to be traveling to now.

We all know that the world seems to be a little chaotic lately. It is sometimes hard to concentrate and go into the magical world of dolls. I have been questioning my business, my art, and every single new decision I make because I feel there is no certainty about anything anymore. I sometimes feel anxious and scared, sad and powerless when watching the news. I always try to stay positive but I also know it is ok to not be ok.

I have read about artists being uninspired lately, not been able to work because they need to be calm and in harmony to make a doll. I think that if you’re forcing yourself to make something you don’t feel at the moment, then maybe that is not an expression of you, that is not your art, at least not at that moment. Art is not meant to be just happy and cute, though this baby totally is, ha! What I mean is art should reflect our feelings, our lives, or dreams, our hopes, fears, and more. If you don’t feel like making something cute now, don’t, but make something, it will most likely help you deal with the chaos. It does not have to be good, it does not have to make sense, it just needs to be real. Art is a reflection of who we are, but it can also be an escape, a metaphor, a critic, a protest. Our art shows who we are and how we deal with the chaos. I have chosen, at least for now, to work on things I love, on things I hope are the norm, on things I dream of. I made this baby boy thinking about a class I want to teach. However, I could have made him differently, with a different skin tone, different clothes, etc. I made him this way, because I felt I needed to see diversity, magic, whimsy, innocence, simplicity, and of course cuteness. I love how he turned out and I hope you do too.

Jadu, 14 inch Waldorf inspired baby boy doll

Please meet Jadu. He is a sensitive sweet baby boy. He loves being read and sing to, especially when the stories involve fairies, and gnomes. He loves being outside and taking naps under trees. He’s very curious about mushrooms so you need to be careful because he will try to grab any mushroom he sees. He loves playing make believe and he actually believes in magic, like all babies do. Jadu is full of wonder and hope, hope of a better world where people seek unity and understanding, a world were we celebrate our differences and share our culture with each other, a world were we learn to love and respect those that are different from us.

Jadu is an 14 inch Waldorf baby boy doll. His skin is Heavy Weight Laib Yala in dark brown. His blue eyes have been hand embroidered and his hair is a hand crocheted with a black wool mix fluffy yarn. His blushing was made with an orange red beeswax crayon and is not permanent. He is a natural fibers doll, filled with clean wool. His head has been made in the traditional Waldorf style. He is articulated on his shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles for better posing. His head is wobbly like a real baby. This baby doll is pretty floppy and very fun to pose. This baby is not weighted.

Hand wash only.

I want to make sure you know that customs taxes in the US are a real possibility right now. As most of the dolls I sent on December generated taxes once they arrived to the US.

Shipping to Canada is 33 USDollars through Mexpost (Mexican Priority Shipping). Other countries will need a revised quote. If you live in Canada or another country and would like your doll to be sent with a private courier with full insurance let me know so I can give you an accurate quote.

Only dolls sent through DHL can be insured.

****Customs taxes and fees may apply and they are the costumers responsibility.****

If you would like to adopt this baby boy, make sure you fill out the form at the end of the post. If there is more than one person interested in him, I will draw a name. I will take entries for Jadu until Thursday January 15, 2026, at 12noon CST (Mexico City Time). Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know some people live in a different time zone, I will give until midnight CST on the same day for the doll to be paid for or else the doll will go to the next person.

By filling out the form you agree that you are 18 years or older. You can only comment once and please do not comment on behalf of someone else, that is just not fair for others.

In the event that Jadu does not find a loving home in the time stated above, he will be listed in my shop.
