Meet Jaci, my sweet imaginative baby girl inspired in the book ¨The Year We Learned to Fly” by Jacqueline Woodson.

Even though this is a baby version of the main character, I felt her butterfly wings were a great way to show how she is learning to fly with her imagination. This is a great book to read to your children when they complain about being bored or even lonely. It is helping us navigate our move. Even though we are not going far, it is giving my kids comfort to be able to relate to the characters. Plus the illustrations are gorgeous.

Jaci is an adorable tiny baby that seems to find new ways to get entertained every day. Being bored is not a problem for a baby that’s just discovering the world. So many new wonderful things to see, touch, and dream about. She seems to love butterflies and butterflies love her and her little doggy too.

Jaci is a 10 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s not fully soft sculpted but she has a cute belly button and bum. Her skin is Laib Yala fabric in red brown. Her whole body is fully lined and mostly stuffed with glass beads. She only has wool on her feet, hands, belly and buttocks. That is why she is so floppy. Her head is floppy. Her arms have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are floppy as well. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth. Jaci’s hair is a hand crocheted big loop mohair wig that has been hand sewn to her head. Her blushing has been made with an orange red bees wax crayon and colored pencils. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a crayon.

Jaci is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She likes to play and cuddle but you need to be gentle with her like you would be with a real newborn baby.

Jaci will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All items are handmade by me.

Jaci’s adoption fee is 650 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico can be either by priority shipping or a private courier. Shipping to the US through priority is 35 usdollars. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. I cannot ship weighted dolls like Jaci to Australia anymore.
