Orange is the happiest color.
-Frank Sinatra

These past few weeks have been really busy for me. Both my daughter and husband had birthdays and I wanted to make sure they had the best days both together and separately. I have also been working on my custom babies, making new patterns and videos for Patreons, planning a new Class and designing new patterns for sale as well. So many ideas, so little time. ha!
I always try to keep making dolls at the same time that I make custom babies so I don’t loose my creative outlet and I can keep dreaming on dolls and working on them. So continuing with the Strawberry Shortcake inspiration, I decided to make one more baby from that clan before I move on to my next project. So please, meet Naranja, my Orange Blossom inspired baby.
She is a little darker than the original doll, and of course her outfit, even though it is inspired in the original Baby Orange Blossom outfit, it has my own touch and vision. I just found out that this character has changed a lot over the years, even her pet changed, so I went with the original version because it was the one that spoke most to me. I hope you like her.

Naranja is a sweet Orange juice lover baby girl. She is as sweet as an orange, as bright as the sunshine, and as curious as a cat. She loves being outside and look at nature. Butterflies might be her favorite animal since she cannot stop looking at them and seems to want to chase them. That is why I made her Marmalade, her own little butterfly plush.
Naranja is also an artist, she enjoys finger painting and may I say, she is really good at it. I know she is just a baby but I feel like I can already recognize butterflies, trees, and oranges in her paintings. My husband says they look like big blobs but I know there is some talent there. Naranja is also a delight to take care of. She is very well behaved and even though she is curious about everything, she seems to be very careful, and somewhat wise about everything she does.

Naranja is a 10 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s not fully soft sculpted but she has a cute belly button and bum. Her skin is Laib Yala fabric in dark brown. Her whole body is fully lined and mostly stuffed with glass beads. She only has wool on her toes, hands, belly and buttocks. That is why she is so floppy. Her head is floppy. Her arms have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are floppy as well. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth. Her brown eyes have been hand embroidered with DMC thread, Naranja’s hair is a hand crocheted wild big loop mohair wig that has been hand sewn to her head. This style of hair cannot be brushed. Her blushing has been made with a red bees wax crayon. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a crayon.
Naranja is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She likes to play and cuddle but you need to be gentle with her like you would be with a real newborn baby.

Naranja will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All items are handmade by me.

Naranja’s adoption fee is 650 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico can be either by priority shipping or a private courier. Shipping to the US through priority is 35 usdollars. Through a private courier is 60 USDollars. Only dolls that are sent through private courier can be insured in case the doll gets lost. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

I will take entries for Naranja until, Saturday February 1, 2025 at 4pm CST (Mexico City Time). If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know we all live in different time zones, the person that gets selected will have until Sunday at 4am to pay for the invoice. If they fail to do so, I will draw a new name.
As always by filling out the form you agree you are 18 years or older and please do not fill out the form for someone else, that is just not fair for others.
In the event Naranja does not find a home in the time stated above she will be listed in my shop later on, first come first serve.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know this sweet little artist. Hope you love her as much as I do.
Read you soon.
Hugs,
Aubrey
