A world in which elves exist and magic works offers greater opportunities to digress and explore.

Meet Ikal! A baby elf that took me a whole year to finish. Can you believe I started this baby in January? I just finished his second outfit 2 weeks ago. It is not that he was a difficult baby or that I was uninspired by him. It was much more simple than that. He was the baby I made for my Baby Elf Class. This class was on Patreon and every month a new lesson would unlock. We started in January and finished in October. However, in November I made a little class to make his baby doll, and this month there is a video tutorial to make his second outfit too. So you see, 12 months in the making! I have really enjoyed this baby.
I am especially proud of this doll, not only because I enjoyed the class so much, or that he came out so cute. I also designed him and every single piece of clothing, Everything he is swearing is from a pattern made by me to fit him. Clothes have always been the hardest part of doll making for me, so this is a big deal and I must confess I now enjoy making the clothes almost as much as making the doll. So expect more clothes patterns this year.

Well, let me tell you now about Ikal. He is an elf alright, but not a Christmas one. He is more of an earth elf. You know, the ones that take care of the forest and such. He has a green thumb and animals love him, especially wild ones. If he helps you plant seeds, expect them to grow strong and beautifully. He has the magic touch for sure.
As you can imagine, Ikal loves nature to the fullest. He rather be outside than inside, even when it is raining. He actually enjoys the rain too, puddles, mud, little rivers next to the side walk, those are his favorites. This things seem to make him the happiest and Ikal has the sweetest smile. He is always in a good mood. I wonder if that is a quality of most elves. I don’t recall meeting any grumpy elves actually.

Ikal is an 11 inch natural fibers baby doll. He’s not fully soft sculpted but he has a cute belly button and bum. His skin is DWE fabric in light brown. His body is stuffed with clean carded wool. Torso has been needle felted to keep the shape. Torso and legs are one piece but sewn to have movement. Legs are floppy and very posable. His arms have been hand sewn to his torso three times to make it extra strong. They are floppy as well. His head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth. His eyes have been hand embroidered with cotton DMC floss. Ikal’s hair is hand crocheted with wild big loop mohair yarn and then hand sewn to his head. Blushing has been made with an orange/red bees wax crayon. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a crayon.
Ikal has been made sturdy enough for play. However, his clothes are not for small children since they contain buttons and snaps that can turn into choking hazards. This doll is suited for children 5 years and up that do not mouth their toys anymore.

Ikal will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in his photos. All items are designed and handmade by me.
- Cloth diaper with snaps.
- Handmade linen shirt with Peter Pan Collar
- Handmade shorts with suspenders
- Handmade wool felt and cotton pointy boots
- Hand knitted pixie bonnet
- Handmade hooded cotton romper (made with recycled clothes and cotton sherpa)
- Hand crocheted cotton booties
- Baby doll as a transitional object

I will take entries for Ikal until, Wednesday Decemeber 11, 2024 at 4pm CST (Mexico City Time). If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. As always by filling out the form you agree you are 18 years or older and please do not fill out the form for someone else, that is just not fair for others.

Thank you so much for taking the time to meet this doll. I am very happy with him and I hope you love him as much as I do.
Read you soon.
