Dorian, 8 inch natural fibers Gargoyle Doll

Have you ever seen a baby gargoyle? Well I haven’t until now. Meet Dorian, the stone baby that appeared one morning on the ledge of my kids’ window. I first thought it was a bird and I paid no attention. Then I thought it was weird that the bird was not moving even during the rain. When I went to check a little closer I found out it wasn’t a bird after all, but some kind of sculpture. Maybe my husband bought it, I thought. But that made no sense really. I went to take it but I couldn’t move it. It was like it was glued to the ledge. So weird really. Since I couldn’t really do anything about it, I kept on going by my day. Right before reading a book to my kids is when I noticed the sculpture was not there anymore. What kind of joke is this? Did my husband take it? Was he messing with me? Well no, the sculpture was just a couple of inches from where it was before, except now it was moving. This weird little creature was curled up in a corner crying. I felt so bad. The cries sounded like a baby and I felt the need to help. I grabbed him and cuddled him. He was a baby, some sort of mixed creature, gray in color but oh so cute. I let him sleep with me that night since he seemed scared. Then when I woke up the next morning I couldn’t find him, I looked out the window and there he was turned into a sculpture once again. I’m not sure how he does that but I did some research and I’m pretty sure he is a Gargoyle. Not sure how he ended up at my house but he is so cute and easy to take care of. He doesn’t even eat, poop, drink water. He just plays and cuddles at night and sleeps all day under the sunlight. It’s like he is recharging or something.

Now I have decided to find a new, hopefully forever home for Dorian. I am not sure how to take care of him and to be honest, I am overwhelmed with everything at the moment. Too many babies being born here. I do think he is the cutest though, and will make his new family very happy.

Dorian is an 8 inch natural fibers baby doll. His skin is Organic Cotton Interlock hand dyed to a gray color. His limbs and torso are filled with clean wool. His head is floppy. His legs and arms are floppy on the shoulders and thighs. Arms are sewn directly to the torso three times for extra strength. Legs and torso are one piece. His head is firmly needle felted, soft sculpted, and hand embroidered with cotton embroidery floss. His blushing was made with a red beeswax crayon and it is not permanent. You will get a little piece of cloth with some blush so you can retouch it if necessary. Dorian is fully soft sculpted and has many details that make him a very unique gargoyle doll.

If you would like to see more photos of Dorian you can do so here.

This baby is not a toy. This is an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 7 and up. Dorian likes to play and cuddle and even though he was made as sturdy as possible, you need to be gentle with him like you would be with a real baby.

Hand wash only.

Dorian will go home with only his bat plush. I will also be making him a little cocoon so he can travel comfortably.
