When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.
– Jiminy Cricket

Please let me officially introduce you to Pinocchio, a baby that surprised us all. I will start by telling his story.
As I was getting ready to go to bed after working real late a couple of weeks ago, I saw a blue light coming out of my studio. I thought that maybe I left my computer on, so I went back to shut it down. I turned on the light and to my surprise this little man was curled up in one of my baskets. I must say I initially freaked out. FInding a puppet you know you didn’t have in your home in the middle of the night is pretty creepy. However, the feeling of fear I had, soon went away as a heard the puppet cooing and discovered it was actually a baby. I was about to pick him up when an insect jumped out of his pocket. I thought it was a cockroach but it was actually a cricket, a magical one. I know you might think me a little cuckoo but I promise you this cricket spoke to me. He explained the baby’s name was Pinocchio and he needed a place to stay. This baby is a cloth puppet that wants to be a real boy, but he needs to prove he deserves this privilege. That is a lot to put on a baby, don’t you think? But well, I don’t make the rules.
The thing is we need to make sure he grows up to be a good and honest child. How will we know we are actually accomplishing the goal? Apparently his nose grows if he lies. Well, it will grow when he learns how to tell lies. Right now he doesn’t actually talk. Seriously, poor kid, even human kids tell lies. I feel like a nose that grows is a little bit harsh but who I am to judge the Blue Fairy. Yes, the Blue Fairy, according to the cricket, is the one that made these rules. I’m not a fan.
This is where I might need help. I really do want this baby to turn into a real boy, I mean, it’s ridiculous, he shouldn’t have to go through so much scrutiny during his childhood. So for me the answer is to find a loving family that will teach him good values, self worth, and kindness. I think you can’t go wrong with those. I cannot keep him because my hands are full at the moment (2 kids, a cat, a dog, a husband, a business of my own, and a lot of babies getting born every month), but maybe you can.

Pinocchio is an almost 12 inch natural fibers art baby doll. His skin is DWE in light brown. His torso is slightly weighted with glass beads and needle felted, then covered with the skin fabric. His arms and legs are fully lined and hinged jointed with wooden beads at the knees, elbows, and hips. This is a complete new technique for me and I really enjoyed it though it took me much longer to make. He is not fully soft sculpted because he is meant to look like a wooden toy, but he has many cute details to make him look like a wooden puppet. Pinocchio’s head is wobbly and is made with a technique learned with Fabiola from Fig and me. He is a fully articulated doll that can be easily posed. His blushing has been made with colored pencils, chalk pastels, and a red orange bees wax crayon. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a crayon, chalk pastels, or make up.
Pinocchio is not a toy. He’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. He likes to play and cuddle like a real boy but you need to be gentle with him like you would be with a real baby.

Pinnochio’s adoption fee is 735 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico can be either by priority shipping or a private courier. Shipping to the US through priority is 35 usdollars. Through a private courier is 60 USDollars. Only dolls that are sent through private courier can be insured in case the doll gets lost. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.
You can choose to pay Pinocchio in full or with a payment plan of only two payments. First payment would be half of the doll’s price paid immediately, and the other half in exactly one month.
If you wish to adopt Pinocchio make sure to fill out the form at the end of the post. If you are unsure that your entry went through, just send me a private message and I’ll confirm it to you.
Please only fill out the form if you are completely sure you want him and are able to pay for him in full or in two payments like I wrote before.
I will take entries for Pinocchio until, Saturday August 17, 2024 at 12noon CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know we all live in different time zones, the person that gets selected will have until Midnight that same day to pay for the invoice. If they fail to do so, I will draw a new name.
As always by filling out the form you agree you are 18 years or older and please do not comment for someone else, that is just not fair for others.
