Bian, a baby girl ready for cuddles

Babies are such a nice way to start people.

-Don Herold

I have been having so much fun with these bald babies, though they are not that easy to make. Putting the skin on neatly on their heads is kind of a nightmare, so I need to practice more to find better and easier ways to do it. Nevertheless, I love how they look and I also love the floppiness and weight of this style.

This time I went with a bigger baby, she is 13.5 inches long and she is full of glass beads, wool, and love. I also sculpted her feet and hands, something I was a little afraid to do with the previous dolls. I still want to change some things in this pattern but that does not mean I don’t love her just the way she is.

Meet Bian. I initially wanted her to be an Asian baby. But as always Asian eyes are hard for me. I also discovered a new challenge, Asian sleeping eyes. I really tried but this was the best I could do for now. I am not giving up though and I will keep trying of course. For now, this is my version of an Asian sleeping baby.

Bian sleeps and dreams all day. I can’t wait until she can tell me what she dreams about. She seems so happy while she sleeps. Though she is also the happiest baby when she is awake. She seems to always have a smile on her face and be in a good mood. Bian loves nature and taking naps under a tree. She loves strawberries, flowers, and animals, especially Bambis, well, you know deers. She sleeps all night but needs to have her little deer baby with her. So make sure you don’t loose it.

Bian is a 13.5 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She is fully soft sculpted and anatomically correct. Her skin is Heavy Weight Laib Yala in light brown. Her whole body is fully lined and mostly stuffed with glass beads. She only has wool on her toes, hands, belly and buttocks. That is why she is so floppy. Her head is floppy. Her arms have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are floppy as well. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and eyes. Bian has no hair and this is on purpose. This is new technique for me and I want to make sure I practice it as much as I can right now. Her blushing has been made with colored pencils, chalk pastels, and a red bees wax crayon. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a crayon.

Bian is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She likes to play and cuddle but you need to be gentle with her like you would be with a real newborn baby.

Bian will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All items are handmade by me.

  • Cloth diaper with snaps.
  • Handmade cotton dress with hand embroidered detail.
  • Handmade tights made with upcycled materials.
  • Hand crocheted booties
  • Hand crocheted diaper cover with deer tail
  • Hand crocheted deer’s hat
  • Baby deer dolly

Bian’s adoption fee is 645 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because she is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 75 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

If you wish to adopt Bian make sure to fill out the form at the end of the post. If you are unsure that your entry went through, just send me a private message and I’ll confirm it to you.

Please only fill out the form if you are completely sure you want this doll and are able to pay for her in full at the moment.

I will take entries for Bian until, Sunday June 9, 2024 at 6pm CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know we all live in different time zones, the person that gets selected will have until Monday June 10, 2024 at 6am to pay for the invoice. If they fail to do so, I will draw a new name.

As always by commenting you agree you are 18 years or older and please do not comment for someone else, that is just not fair for others.

If Bian does not find a home in the time stated above, she will be announced on Instagram and Facebook as ready for adoption.

Thank you so much for coming to meet my sweet Bian.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Read you soon.

Hugs,

Aubrey
