I hope you are all doing well and not melting in your part of the world. We have had some crazy hot weather here in Mexico. There was a day that the heat sensation was at 52 Celsius, can you believe it? This is the first time in my life I experience such extreme heat. So in the middle of that heat I thought about what animal would love this weather. Dinosaurs of course. I have a terrible phobia to reptiles, little geckos look like dinosaurs to me. So I guess that’s how I made the connection about all these geckos around the house during this hot weather and dinosaurs. I also had this fabric my little boy chose for his birthday doll (he’s in the dinosaur phase right now). So I guess it was in the stars to make a dinosaur inspired outfit next. I had decided to make a girl next, and even though I could have changed it to a boy, I decided that girls love dinosaurs too. Well, some girls, not me of course. hahaha!

So please meet Susana. She is a reptile lover, and a dinosaurs fan. I really don’t know where she gets it from. Loving dinosaurs does not mean she doesn’t like dolls or pink. She can love dinosaurs and princesses at the same time. We could say she is a well balanced girl. Susana is a little baby that sleeps a lot and dreams of dinosaurs. She really needs her sleep to grow big and strong. She will, however, let you know when she is hungry or needs. a diaper change. She even will let you know when she needs a song and book to go to sleep. It is a little confusing in the beginning, but with time you will recognize every single noise and cry and know exactly what she needs. I promise.

She is a tad wider than Paulo (the previous doll) is. She is also super floppy and gives the best hugs and snuggles. It feels like she melts in your arms.

Susana is a 10 inch natural fibers art baby doll. She’s not fully soft sculpted but she is anatomically correct. She also has a cute belly button and bum. Because of the way she is stuffed I was not able to fully soft sculpt her. Her skin is DWE in red brown. Her whole body is fully lined and mostly stuffed with glass beads. She only has wool on her toes, hands, belly and buttocks. That is why she is so floppy. Her head is floppy. Her arms have been hand sewn to her torso three times to make it extra strong. They are floppy as well. Her head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and eyes. Susana has no hair and this is on purpose. This is new technique for me and I want to make sure I practice it as much as I can right now. Her blushing has been made with colored pencils, chalk pastels, and a red bees wax crayon. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a crayon.

Susana is not a toy. She’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. She likes to play and cuddle but you need to be gentle with her like you would be with a real newborn baby.

Susana will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in her photos. All items are handmade by me.

Susana’s adoption fee is 530 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because she is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 60 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

I will take entries for Susana until, Monday May 27, 2024 at 6pm CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know we all live in different time zones, the person that gets selected will have until Tuesday May 28, 2024 at 6am to pay for the invoice. If they fail to do so, I will draw a new name.
