I have been so excited for you to meet Paulo. He is my first bald baby in this style. I do love dolls with hair but I have always wanted to make a natural fibers doll without hair, more like my soft sculpted babies. I didn’t want the head to have weird seams at the top or the back. I wanted something smoother with a nice shape of the head, just like I got it with Paulo. It took me almost 6 years to make this happen so you can imagine how happy I am with this baby. This not only allows me to make bald babies but it also allows me to play more with the hair. I’m so excited about it.

Paulo is not only my first bald baby but he is also made in a whole new way, the floppiest way so far. Paulo has a full lined body stuffed mostly with glass beads with some wool in certain places to be able to keep the shape. This took some trial and error and I still want to make some little modifications to this pattern. Nevertheless I love it. I love this baby so much. I actually thought about keeping him but I just can’t afford it. The first ones of their kind are always a little more special.

Paulo is a tiny baby that has just been born and he spends most of the time sleeping. He likes to be held a lot, just like any new baby does. He wakes up every two hours to either eat, move around a little, or for a diaper change. This will get better with time I assure you. He sleeps better on someone’s chest, I think he likes the sound of a heartbeat, and he seems to melt on you when you hold him.

Paulo is a 10 inch natural fibers art baby doll. He’s not fully soft sculpted but he is anatomically correct. He does have a cute belly button and bum. Because of the way he is stuffed I was not able to fully soft sculpt him. I need to work a little more on that. hehe! His skin is Laib Yala in dark peach. His limbs are fully lined and mostly stuffed with glass beads. He only has wool on his toes, hands, belly and buttocks. That is why he is so floppy. His head is floppy. His arms have been hand sewn to his torso three times to make it extra strong. They are floppy as well. His head is firmly needle felted and soft sculpted in the mouth and eyes. Paulo has no hair, yay!!! His blushing has been made with colored pencils, chalk pastels, and a red orange bees wax crayon. It is not permanent and it can be refreshed with a bees wax crayon.

Paulo is not a toy. He’s an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 10 and up. He likes to play and cuddle but you need to be gentle with him like you would be with a real newborn baby.

Paulo will go home with the clothes and accessories you see in his photos. All items are handmade by me.

Paulo’s adoption fee is 530 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping inside Mexico is free with standard mail with tracking (It can be upgraded to Mexpost or private courier at the customer’s expense). Shipping outside Mexico needs to be by a private courier and fully insured because he is a weighted doll. Shipping to the US is 60 USDollars. Other parts of the world will need a revised shipping quote. Customs fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

I will take entries for Paulo until, Monday May 20, 2024 at 6pm CST. If more than one person is interested I will draw a name. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt. Because I know we all live in different time zones, the person that gets selected will have until Tuesday May 21, 2024 at 6am to pay for the invoice. If they fail to do so, I will draw a new name.
