Just because I cannot see, it doesn’t mean I can’t believe it!
-Jack Skellington

All better now! No more sickness in our house! After almost 2 weeks of sickness between me and my kiddos, we are finally back to normal. So I hope you are ready for more Halloween babies because this one is the ultimate one. This is Jake! My little skeleton baby. He might look somewhat creepy to some people, but all I see is a cute little baby with wondering eyes and so much energy in him.
Baby Jake is from the land of Halloween. Well, that is what I was told. He is not scared of absolutely anything. He actually loves the dark and creepy costumes, Scare sounds and movies make him happy. I guess that is how it is when you are a Halloween baby right? He is fearless and very curious. He gets excited about everything and wants to try new things every day, Which it is easy right now because almost everything is new to him. I wonder if that curiosity will start dying down with age, when he knows more things and does not need to wonder so much. I hope so or who knows how much trouble he might get into.
Jake’s favorite food is pumpkin pie. He loves everything Halloween. He asked for a ghost puppy as a traveling and I am almost finishing with him. When he saw the pup’s face he called him minus. Not sure about the name but maybe it does make sense. The best news is that Jake doesn’t mind sleeping by himself and he is a really good sleeper.

As you can already see, this is a baby inspired in a character from The Nightmare Before Christmas, the pumpkin king! Even though he is inspired in Jack Skellington, he is made in my own way of course, as a baby. His name is Jake, mostly because I rather stay out of trouble with copyrighted characters. I hope he has enough different and unique things about him to not get in trouble.
I think Halloween creepy cute babies are turning into my favorite thing to make. I love reimagining the so called creepy characters and turning them into something cute. I have been asked many times over the years to make a Jack Skellington baby of the wool kind. I struggled with figuring out how to make a bald head for this character. That is the main reason I never made it. I finally found a way, I actually love how it turned out, and I hope you love it too.

Jake is a 10inch natural fibers baby doll. His skin is Organic Cotton Interlock hand painted to look like a skeleton. His head is very floppy, after all he is a skeleton. His legs and arms are floppy on the shoulders and thighs. Arms are sewn directly to the torso three times for extra strength. Legs and torso are one piece. His head is firmly needle felted, soft sculpted, hand painted with fabric paint, and hand embroidered with cotton embroidery floss. His body has been hand painted with black fabric paint. Jake has many soft sculpted details that make him a very unique doll. This is a handmade doll and even though it was made with love and care, it may have some happy accidents on it that make him even more unique. Nothing major or very noticeable of course.

This baby is not a toy. This is an art doll intended for gentle play by an adult collector or an older child 7 and up. Jake likes to play and cuddle and even though he was made as sturdy as possible, you need to be gentle with him like you would be with a real baby. His head needs to be supported at all times.
