New little babies are ready to play.

“Babies are living dolls with dancing smiles that come from the stars to still our hearts.”

Maite, Miguel, and Micaela: Waldorf inspired baby dolls

Hope you are feeling some of the fall crisp breeze already. In here we are getting lots of rain and some thunderstorms. I guess that is how the colder weather feels in the tropics. Yet it still feels pretty hot in here. Hope it starts cooling off a little in the next couple of months.

Now into something completely different. Some new toy dolls are now ready for adoption. I must admit these babies are almost therapeutic for me to make. I love to be able to let go a little and enjoy the making of a more simple doll with simple features, and not much sculpting. I love making the clothes with little hands in mind and imagining children like my little V playing with them. She’s actually consulted in most of the details and she approves of these dolls 100%. This time I decided to change their clothes a little. I also included a boy because I usually don’t get to make many boys. I really love this design and hope I get to make many more of these babies in the future.

Now let me introduce you to the babies in the order of birth.

First we have Miguel. This sweet boy can be a handful. He misbehaved a lot when I first made him. To be fair he couldn’t hear me because I had not given him ears yet. Once I did he started behaving a little better but who am I kidding he’s still mischievous. He’s gentle and loving but don’t let those sweet eyes fool you, you need to keep an eye on him at all times. Miguel loves cars, planes, dinosaurs, and baby rhymes. He loves to clap and dance to anything that makes music. He’s also a little silly and full of energy.

Maite was born second and she’s so well behaved. She really seems like she’s the oldest. This baby is always happy and interested. She’s a delight to take care of. She can almost take care of herself, except she needs to be changed, bathed, and fed of course. Maite loves unicorns, fairies, dragons, and bear hugs. She also loves to play peek a boo and to be read, Dr. Seuss’ books are her favorites.

Micaela is the youngest of the three. She’s a little more shy. She’s also very sensitive and gets startled with loud noises, or yelling. She can be skeptical at first but once she gets to know you, she will want to be in your arms all the time. She’s a cosleeper of course. Micaela loves elephants, hippopotamuses, playing with water, and painting. She’s more of a sensory baby. She loves physical contact and hates being alone.

These three babies are all looking for new homes. These dolls where made as toy dolls suited for children 5 and up that do not mouth their toys. They are natural fibers dolls, filled with clean wool. Their heads have been made in the traditional Waldorf style with some needle felting to make them firmer. Their skin is heavy weight Laib Yala in Dark Peach for Miguel, Light Brown for Micaela, and Dark Brown fro Maite. Hands and head have been sewn to the body with a sewing machine, so they are extra strong but also floppy. Legs and body are one piece. Miguel has embroidered brown hair. Maite and Micaela have wild loop mohair crocheted wig caps that have been securely hand sewn to their heads. Their clothes are made with cotton fabrics and all have velcro closures. These dolls are pretty floppy and fun to pose.

They will each go home with the following clothes and accessories:

  • Handmade long sleeve shirt.
  • Handmade diaper with velcro closures
  • Handmade footed overalls
  • Handmade hat
  • A little traveling friend

If you would like to see more photos of them you can check them out here in their album.

Each doll is made to be as sturdy as possible. However, small children’s play should always be monitored. Never leave a small infant unattended with a stuffed toy.

Each baby’s adoption fee is 180 USDollars plus shipping. Shipping to Mexico is free and 13 USDollars for the rest of the world.

There is a new, priority shipping option, it is 30 USD for the US and Canada. Priority shipping to other countries would need a revised quote. If you would like priority shipping please let me know before hand so I can adjust the shipping price.

If you would like to adopt any of these babies, make sure you comment on this post stating the name of the baby doll: Miguel, for the boy, Maite for the black girl, and Micaela for the tan girl. If you want more than one, make sure you write the names in the priority you would like them. If there is more than one person interested in any of the dolls, I will draw a name. I will take entries for these babies until tomorrow Wednesday September 23 at 5pm CDT.

By commenting you agree that you are 18 years or older. Please do not comment on behalf of someone else, that is just not fair for others. Once a family has been chosen I will send a PayPal invoice that is due upon receipt.

All of these babies have found loving homes.
